Apple drops prices of iPhone and iPad models in India thanks to GST

The Goods and Services Tax (GST) was successfully implemented across India from July 1st and the government has already announced the different tax slabs for different industries. GST is a consolidated tax and has been put in place to eliminate all other consumer and producer taxes effectively.

Starting July 1, Apple India has officially reduced prices of all its current iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac products. The price cut on the iPhone ranges from Rs 1,200 for the 32GB iPhone SE to Rs 6,600 for the 256GB Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus. Also, all iPad models (including the yet-to-be-released iPad Pro) will be discounted by at least Rs 900 all the way up to Rs 3,900.

Even the Apple Watch range has received a significant price reduction. Starting from Rs 1,000 on the base model, you can avail a Rs 5,200 discount on the ceramic Apple Watch Edition. Talking about Apple's computers, the MacBook Air's price remains unchanged while the 12-inch MacBook and all the MacBook Pro models are getting a price cut in the new list.
